Cosmicore Story

OUR JOURNEY: FROM VISION TO IMPLEMENTATION

1980s–1990s
ROOTS IN CUSTOMARY LAND

Melvin K. Jensen was born in the remote village of Kansimei near the Enga–Sepik border and raised within customary land systems, strong tribal identity, and community-based governance. These foundations continue to shape Cosmicore’s landowner-led philosophy.

---

1990s–2000s
EDUCATION & PROFESSIONAL FORMATION

Adopted and raised in Australia, Melvin was educated under the Australian system and completed formal training in civil engineering and surveying. This period provided exposure to international standards in infrastructure development, governance, and project delivery.

---

2000s–2010s
MAJOR INFRASTRUCTURE & RESOURCE PROJECT EXPERIENCE

Over more than two decades, Melvin worked across Australia’s civil engineering, mining, and energy sectors, contributing to large-scale infrastructure, transport, water, and resource projects delivered under strict regulatory and professional frameworks.

This experience informs Cosmicore’s emphasis on discipline, compliance, and execution.

2021
FOUNDATION OF COSMICORE

Cosmicore was established to address a clear gap in Papua New Guinea’s development landscape: the absence of effective implementation mechanisms linking customary landownership with lawful, professionally delivered projects.

The company was structured to support landowner-led development while meeting the expectations of government institutions and regulatory authorities.

---

2022–2024
GOVERNANCE, PARTNERSHIPS & PROJECT PREPARATION

During this period, Cosmicore focused on:
• establishing landowner-aligned governance structures
• engaging legal, financial, and technical advisers
• working with customary landowners and ILGs
• engaging relevant PNG government agencies
• preparing development concepts to professional standards

This phase prioritised readiness over speed.

---

2025–PRESENT
PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION PHASE

Cosmicore is progressing landowner-led resource and development projects through structured joint ventures, regulatory engagement, and investor alignment, with a focus on lawful approvals, environmental responsibility, and local participation.

Projects are being advanced progressively and deliberately to ensure long-term viability and community benefit.

LOOKING AHEAD

Cosmicore’s future focus is disciplined growth:
• strengthening landowner capability
• delivering successful pilot projects
• expanding development models responsibly
• supporting skills transfer and local employment
• working in partnership with government institutions

Growth will be guided by performance, compliance, and outcomes — not ambition alone
