Melvin is a Papua New Guinean-born civil engineer and project surveyor with over 30 years of experience across Australia’s mining, energy, and infrastructure sectors. Having worked with industry giants such as Thiess, John Holland, Abigroup, MPC Kinetic, Origin Energy, and Santos, Melvin brings a wealth of technical expertise and leadership to Cosmicore.
As the founder and Executive Chairman of Cosmicore, he oversees the governance, development, and investment strategies across all project areas — from mining and energy to infrastructure, agriculture, and digital transformation.
Melvin’s mission is to bridge the gap between customary landowners and global investors through a governance platform rooted in transparency, skills transfer, and economic justice. He is widely respected for his Australian-standard leadership style, combining technical precision with deep cultural awareness and national pride.

I have always been an optimist—especially when it comes to the vast, untapped potential of Papua New Guinea's mining sector. While the past decade may be viewed by many as a period of missed opportunities and stagnation, I choose to look ahead—with conviction, with purpose, and with hope. The future of this nation will not be defined by its setbacks, but by its resurgence. And it begins now.
That is why I founded Cosmicore—not just as a gold mining company, but as a catalyst for national transformation. Over the next 20 years, we will work relentlessly to unlock the prosperity of this land and its people. We are not merely extracting minerals from the earth—we are building the foundations for a brighter, more equitable future.
This land is sacred. It is the land my ancestors have called home for over 40,000 years. It is a land entrusted to us by generations who walked it with dignity and purpose. And today, I step into that legacy, determined to honour it through action.
Cosmicore stands for more than profit—it stands for people. We are committed to working hand-in-hand with local governments, community leaders, and NGOs to develop sustainable, inclusive, and long-lasting solutions that empower communities at every level.
We will:
- Build modern housing and infrastructure that gives families safety, dignity, and pride.
- Transform healthcare and education by constructing hospitals and schools that meet Australian and New Zealand standards.
- Provide renewable energy solutions, such as solar power stations, to ensure reliable and green energy for rural and urban communities.
- Create state-of-the-art communication towers to connect isolated villages to the world.
- Develop sporting and recreational facilities, giving youth a space to grow, dream, and thrive.
- Introduce world-class agricultural and farming programs, boosting food security and empowering local farmers to reach global markets.

It is about giving back from a place of deep gratitude for the opportunities I have had—born of both tradition and privilege—and sharing those blessings with my people.
But our mission does not stop at our borders. I envision Cosmicore growing beyond Papua New Guinea, reaching into other developing regions of the world—across Asia, Africa, and the Pacific—to replicate this model of inclusive development. Where we mine, we uplift. Where we invest, we inspire.
